Marching Arts and Drum Majors

Dina has a rich history of involvement with the marching arts. She was a member, leader, and drum major of the Marcus High School Band in Flower Mound, TX and a drum major with the Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps for three years. She has taught drum majors nationwide for years through private lessons, clinics, and school partnerships. She has experience as a drum major in all positions, including side/assistant, backfield, and front field, and has a deep understanding of each role as a result. She has also worked as a marching band technician for years with programs in the DFW metroplex.

Dina is passionate about making the experience of being a drum major a positive one for everyone involved — the drum majors themselves, the directors, and the ensemble. She believes in and teaches a clean and crisp conducting technique that is anatomy-friendly and supports energy conservation, with the goal of preventing common drum major injuries and pain. Dina is dedicated to fostering positive team dynamics and personal growth, as well as helping her students excel in their roles, both on and off the field.

Additionally, Dina is dedicated to her mission of expanding the resources available for drum majors worldwide. She is the author of The Drum Major Codex, as well as the owner and founder of her drum major specialist business, The U Factor. Dina has more plans in the works to expand drum major resources and marching arts accessibility in the future.
